Whales, Guns and Leprechauns

We have started doing pilates.  Thats pretty fun.  We borrowed a DVD from Kater that has 5 10 minute workouts for different targeting.  It’s much easier to say “I’ve got 10 minutes right now” than “I’m gonna drive somewhere, pay someone, and spend 20/30/60 minutes there with other people” ya know?  Gotta stay lookin gooood.

Last Wednesday, St. Patty’s day, Our friend Stephanie stopped in on her way from Kansas to Texas and We all hopped in the car and took a day trip.  Catoosa, OK-home of the “Blue Whale” was first on the list of things to see.

Of course We had to climb inside and on top of it =)

The whale was obviously old, and it was pretty cold that day, but it was still pretty cool to see.  Going out over the water and fishing off the whale and picnicking at the tables is probably a blast in the warmer weather.

After We left the whale, We drove out to Claremore, OK…home of the World’s Largest Private Gun Collection; J M Davis Arms Museum.  Over 10,000 guns!

They had an anti-tank gun:

They had knives with guns on them:

They had all kinds of crazy old posters…I think this was my favorite:

They also had a giant Nazi section:

They had beer steins of every shape and size, animal heads and skins, and a bunch of indian weapons:

We made it about 1/3-1/2 way through and decided they were starting to all look the same.  It was crazy big and We had other things to see with increasingly less time.

We stopped a few places along the way for scenery pictures, which will soon be posted in a sister blog of Cali’s…more info on that soon.

Next place of interest for Us was Vinita, OK and the Summerside Winery.  It took Us a minute to realize that it was on “Historic Rt 66” not just plain old Route 66, but once We found it We were glad We did.  We were the only people there when We arrived, which was great because We got the full attention of the friendly staff.  We tasted several of their wines and used their restroom (which was amazing and I failed to get a picture of it) and then We were given a tour of the back of the winery where they bottle their wine.  I had never seen anything like it.

We got to see raw wine fermenting:

And were given a taste straight out of one of the 500 gal tanks:

Before We left, We were shown how the cork machine and seal machine work.  They had finished bottling a bunch of wine and had a bottle at the end that hadn’t filled but half way, and they corked, sealed and labelled it and let Us take it home!  Thanks guys!!

It has since been consumed =)

After the winery, We drove around the Grove, OK area and almost got to the Missouri state line by accident!  We took more scenic pictures and stopped in at a broken down old building to explore the inside.  We had a nice drive back to Tulsa and as We pulled into the parking lot at the apt, We heard a radio announcement to text the station and win some tickets to Black Eyed Peas concert after party thing.  He said to text why We should win the tickets…so I texted “We should win because We are hot, travelling the US and happen to be in Tulsa this month. Plus the party don’t start til We walk in”.  They agreed, and I won.  We ate some dinner inside real quick and headed out to Rehab Lounge for some St. Patty’s Day fun.  I managed to only take 2 pictures that night, and they look remarkably alike…I dont remember much of the end of the evening, but I know I danced and woke up feeling like poooop.

The next day We got out of bed around 4pm and hung out at the tattoo shop for a while before going home to watch movies and relax.

Friday was an absolutely beautiful day.  The weather was perfect, it was warm and sunny and We hung out outside for a little while.  Saturday though…Saturday was some bullshit.  We woke up to snow on the ground.  It snowed all day and night and got like 8-10 inches.  I posted a video on my YouTube channel.  There are other videos from Our trip on youtube…my channel is Hisnumber2.

The snow didn’t keep Us from getting dressed up and going out…after all the BEP after party was that night.  We had dinner at this place called “Genghis Grill” where you go through a line and fill your bowl with meat and vegetables and spices and then choose a starch (rice, noodles, etc) and they cook it on a giant grill in front of you.  So.  Good.  After dinner, We had drinks with Kater and headed to the party.  It wasn’t amazing, We got bored and left around midnight.  While We were there, Cali was approached by 2 radio personalities who were interested in His appearance.  Like everyone else, they were envious of Our journey and took Our picture while asking questions.  Kinda cool…being a tourist and an attraction.  We ended up at Rehab again with some pals to round out the night =)

That all brings Us to Sunday.  Sunday, I was glad I didn’t drink Saturday night.  Daddy felt like shite, and I got tattooed for HOURS.  About 5 of them.  We got one side done and the other side outlined…but its nothing less than amazing.  Heres a sneak peek…

Yes folks, from left to right, thats skittles, a Twinkie, a hard candy, an oreo, a doughnut, and the centerpiece cupcake I’ve had for over a year (which was gone over that night as well).  I’ve all but given up eating all those things and I love them.  Obviously, I love them enough to put them permanently where they always end up anyway-my hips!!

Today I realized that machines really are taking the place of people…I got to order food from one.

We are having such a great time…sometimes I realize how happy We are and its weird.  It makes me realize that it could all just be gone in an instant and I want to enjoy everything I can.  When I feel myself getting upset, or even irritated I think about how in the next second, life could change forever and I might never get the chance to be happy again.  The same is true for everyone.  It could all be gone in an instant and the little stuff that we let get so big can ruin an amazing time.  I miss my kids.  My gma and mom.  My bff and a few others…but I am happy.  We are happy…and in a life where nothing is real except for now (and even that is philosophically up for debate)-what else can I do but enjoy the ride?  Please do the same…love it.

Stay tuned…

More penguins…and a donkey

So the internet where We are staying is crappy at best. I did happen to find a blog application for my phone though. 🙂 I have one of those new android phone things and they have an app for everything! I would be posting more, I think, if it weren’t such a hassle or didn’t take for freaking ever. It’s like having dial-up again!

We have had a few adventures since I wrote last. I got into a bar fight (gasp) and that was interesting. Some chick got mad at her friends ex boyfriend and threw her beer at him…and missed. She did, however, get it all over Us. We don’t even like beer. After she threw her beer, she ran to the bathroom. Pussy. When she came out, Cali stopped her and told her she got beer all over Us and she said “yeah, so?” And so He dumped His full red bull vodka SLUSH on her. She, of course, freaks the fuck out and runs off screaming to her boyfriend. In Our head, everything is even and square…not so much in hers. Cali was ordering a drink to replace His when beer chick comes flying out of the shadows onto His back. She barely made contact before I removed her to the floor and proceeded to introduce my fists and elbows to her head and face. The bouncers grabbed her and Cali grabbed me. On her way out the door, she kicked the door guy in the nuts. Twice! In the scuffle, she managed to knock Cali’s Burberry sunglasses off His face and rip the hood off of His sweatshirt and scratch my face. Apparently she acts crazy a lot since she got kicked out and We didn’t. Ps her boyfriend was the bass player of the band onstage there that night. Jejejeje  It was also the night of the donkey.

I hate it when I’m cold, and someone tries to “convince” me it’s not cold. I mean seriously…how is you blabbering about how comfortable you are gonna warm me up? Perhaps I get cold easy, its been said before, but when I say “I’m cold”, someone responding with “its not cold its great” isn’t gonna raise my temp k, good. Thanks.

We have been watching Nip/Tuck from the beginning! Our friend has them all and We have made it through season 1 and halfway through season 2. We like watching shows better that way. No commercials, no waiting for next week or next season. We watched all of “Dexter” in january and that was pretty damn awesome.

I have cut back smoking cigarettes. I still really enjoy smoking, but one pack is lasting me about a week! I didn’t do it intentionally though. One day I realized I hadn’t had a cigarette all day and I hadn’t wanted one. I had them, it just didn’t cross my mind. Weird.

The plan for next month so far is camping in Utah park areas for about 10-14 days. I been camping before…but wtf do I know about camping for 2 weeks? Srsly? It will be an adventure. Its gonna super cold at night. We have discussed doing some more work on the car first (suspension stuff) and letting it warm up a bit before doing the camping…who knows what He’ll decide 🙂 its like christmas. I might not find out until We are in the car driving. How much fun is that?? I’m stoked!

We went to the “Philbrook Museum” here in Tulsa on Saturday. It is free on the 2nd sat. of every month…We did not know, however, that it was “family day”. Yay. The kids in the museum were actually pretty well behaved and after the initial shock of all the rowdy kids in the lobby, We had an awesome museum date. The Philbrook is a giant old house with so many rooms it was almost like a maze with 3 levels. I saw my first pieces by Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh and others. Uh. Mazing. The museum also has several outdoor gardens, a waterfall garden, a gazebo, walking paths…it was a beautiful day and We took advantage of the outdoors.

We have been searching for more penguins. I called the zoo and got the list…there are 100 of the damn things. Some of them are no longer up and some were stolen or moved…but damnit We are tracking them down! We have found 9 I think.

Cali cut some vines on Kater’s ribs the other night…very nice.

Thank you, come again.

Penguins, laundry and indians…oh my!

Fancy meeting you here…

I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been researching blog sites to find one that I love. I liked the other ones ok, but it just wasn’t working out. I needed to break up with them, and I didn’t know where to turn. Thanks to Lor, I found wordpress.com. We’ve been together for a few days now! I look forward to a long, healthy relationship. Subscribe, enjoy, and read on. Thanks.

Again, I will suggest reading the  first Oklahoma blog (<—–click that)  before continuing. It’s the beginning of Oklahoma, and you don’t want to miss it. Good stuff. Lots of pictures (including the apt We stay in-wow). Wouldn’t import, but worth the click and read.

Last time we met here, I left you at a lazy Tuesday of blog writing. Wednesday I spent the day online working on the technical aspects of my blog page…booooring. Thursday though-Thursday was fun.

In Tulsa, there is a laundromat called “University of Wash”. We decided against traveling into the basement at the apt building to do laundry and everyone We asked directed Us to UofW. The description was always the same-“There’s a bar inside. You can drink beer, smoke cigarettes, play pool…AND do your laundry”. Amazing. They weren’t kidding. I think those were the best loads of laundry I ever did. The lady running the place actually complimented me on being neat and NOT leaving a mess. Can you imagine the amount of soap a drunk person would spill? We were sober though…early in the day for Us, but We ordered a pitcher of beer for the novelty, ya know?

Lots o hippies in that place, but it was an enjoyable time. Thumbs up.

After laundry, We went “home” for a bit, and I put on some craziness to carry on the “opening night dress up” tradition. We have only done it once before, (New Moon)-

but if you don’t keep doing it, it can’t become a tradition, right? So I put on this for “Alice in Wonderland”:

We scooped up Kater and got appetizers and drinks and headed over to the movie theater for Alice! We bought tickets last weekend for the first showing at midnight…3D IMAX! No line waiting, just good seats. It was a beautifully visual movie, but it wasn’t quite as awesome as I wanted it to be. The glasses, however, were very awesome.

Not disappointed though. Had a good time. Kater fell asleep 🙂

Friday was spent just hanging out. We watched “Zombieland” and “Big Stan”, hung out at the tattoo shop for a while, nothing exciting. Saturday, Cali woke up super congested so We spent the day resting Him. Blah on that BS. If either one of Us got sick right now…suuuuuuck. Sunday, We decided to check out the “Sonic Center of the Universe” in Tulsa. It was kinda freaky. The echo you hear when you stand in the center is very strange, but move just a few inches across flat ground and it disappears.

I’m sure We will go back and get better pics, but look at the link and it’ll tell you all about it. Definitely a cool place to stop by. There were people there when We got there, and more people came before We left so it seems to be a popular place. It’s on a footbridge over train tracks, which is also very cool.

After the Center of the Universe thing, We went to an “Agro” meeting. Agro is a suspension group for this area and some of the guys in it are people He knows from Texas and stuff. They are self admittedly a “baby group” and after 3 hours of standing around, a girl went up for her first time. 4 hooks in the back…

she pussed out after a bit so We left. I gotta say, I’m still pretty proud of myself for mine. =)

Randomly- all over Tulsa there are penguins. When the zoo was trying to rebuild the penguin habitat, they began a fundraiser that allowed people to buy the rights to paint these penguin statues however they wanted. We will be driving down the street and randomly, in places you wouldn’t expect, there will be a crazy dressed penguin. Like these guys…

There will be more and I will capture them. Every single penguin I see…none will escape.

Today, We took a 250 mile roundtrip day ride to the Tahlequah Cherokee Heritage Museum.  It was raining, but that didn’t stop Us from taking the outdoor guided tour of the ancient village.

We also drove out to “tenkiller lake”  Nothing particularly exciting about it, just a cool name =)

Our upcoming plans include a scenic and museum filled drive up “historic” route 66 and coming back to Tulsa by way of several state parks, a visit from a friend passing through on her way to Texas on St Patty’s, a trip or 2 to OKC for various activities (omniplex link) and several daytrips and picnics in the surrounding parks. April 1st We drive through OKC and Texoma (ghost town) and it’s off to Albuquerque, New Mexico for an easter suspension, a birthday party and time with some loved ones. A short time, but a good one. The first week of April, it’s Destination: Utah.

Read this before continuing!! =)

Click this for my first Oklahoma blog.

I wrote this one on another site, and some of you may have read it already.  If you didn’t, please do.  It has pictures of Our humble abode and the first couple nights in Oklahoma.  It also has pics from the time spent in Austin between New Mexico and Oklahoma.  I like this site better so this is where I shall stay.  Welcome!!

So today was halloween and I have officially been on adventure with Cali for one week. Albuquerque New Mexico. I have been snowed on, played in it on the mountain, taken acid and walked around downtown albuquerque, and had the most intense camel toe of my life wearing a children’s costume and tutus. Being here with Cali has been the most amazing operation of my life. I am never alone. I make no decision without consultation. I am more free than I have ever been and I have never had more fun in my life. While I miss my friends, and having a home, I am enjoying living out of my suitcases and doing whatever whenever. Some highlights…

Lisa. Lisa VanDyke is one of the most amazing people on the face of this planet. She is fashionable, articulate, and always on point. She loves snacks, she’s down for fun, and she has priorities. She loves her life, and she lives it. I applaud her. She is fabulous. Tonight, she was dressed as Lady Gaga. Bodysuit, fishnets, big glasses and a hoodie with the most fantastic bangs and elbow gloves Ive ever seen. Dancing up a storm and drinking warm tuaca shots, she lit my evening with consistent entertainment. From the people who stopped to yell “LISAAAA!” to the teletubby “gummybear” to eating candy with no hesitation, it was nothing less than FABU.

It was snowing one day when Cali and I decided to travel outdoors for adventure. I caught snowflakes on my tongue, I took pics of my footprints in the snow, I posed for ridiculously cheesy cell phone pics to send to friends and family. It was amazing.

Cali cut some chick, and in trade, We received some LSD and magical brownies. For 2 days, We marveled at the glitter around Us, and watched movies such as “The Labyrinth” and “Requiem for a Dream”. We wandered around downtown and looked at kachina dolls and drums, and did calisthenics in the crosswalks. Good times.

Point of interest- if you bank at CHASE bank, and you want to visit new mexico, don’t try to go to a local branch…there doesn’t happen to be one in the ENTIRE STATE. Have a debit card…Im just sayin.

I swear sometimes I think I could charm the pants off the president in front of a school of minors…Cali and I were visiting a friend of His, and one of her friends came over and was wearing a unicorn/pegasus costume. It was obviously child sized, and she was very small herself, but it looked uncomfortable. I had to try it on. Of course, I asked to try it on, and I put it on, with a little effort, and came out to model it. The best part was the massive camel toe I had from the short torso of this costume. It was…nothing less than amazing. She told me she wasn’t wearing it for halloween, but she couldn’t resist buying it for $6!!! I borrowed it (from this girl I had never seen before in my life) and I totally wore it tonight. Pair it with camouflage stilletos and black and white tuts and a bullet belt, and I was a tactical pegapussicorn. Oh the pictures. We ate candy, danced to thriller, and tried to order food-then Our credit card was taken home by Our server and We couldnt get the car to start when We wanted to go get food. So…staying home, getting high and writing blogs is how I close my Halloween 2009.

We are going back to Austin Nov 23rd to Dec 2nd and then We are headed to Sin city. Thanksgiving with my kids and then adventure time again. I started learning Arabic today. Cali is a good teacher and We have rosetta stone helping Us.

If anyone has any ideas of where We should go during Our travels around all 50 United States, let me know. We wanna see all wacky, weird, crazy fabulous things. Who knows, We might be in a city near you soon. Not that We will see you, but if there is something cool to do…say so!
